drive shaft issue

I want to run an 80 series Land Cruiser rear axle in my DD 99 4runner. That will cause me to have a vertical offset and a horizontal offset of about 5". Can it be done/should it be done? Thoughts and comments.

99 already has a double cardan joint on it, I can't see any advantages to running one........ does it have larger u-joints bars and bearings?
