Man... a search on bed rust brings up quite a few threads. I hope this isn't something that's been adressed too many times.

I've noticed that my '64 SWB holds water like a tub in the back and if the truck is parked at the wrong angle it'd hold an easy 50 gallons back there. Not a drain hole one and all the ribs in the floor are full length. Any suggestions? Has anyone drilled their bed?

I would imagine it would give rust a very good starting place if you did that wrong. You could drill them and coat them with POR-15 and keep grease or something in there to prevent rust from starting. It's a good idea only if you keep on top of the holes and keep them rust free.

Or buy a canvas bed cover.
