1982 hj47 troopy , ummm, this is either the noobiest question ever, or... im super confused why i cant find anything at all related to buying new glass for your doors? I took the card off the right door to take a look at the regulator. its always been skippy, and crappy, and lately its been slipping down when hitting bumps in the road. and realized it just needs a new one. the gears were slipping and the handle shaft has a ton of play. when trying to find a new regulator, non of them looked like what i have in my door. My window is glued into (or used to be) a channel that is welded to the top of the sliding part of the regulator. everything i see for sale used and new has a top sliding channel that bolts to a channel clamped to the glass with a weather strip. I started looking for a new window to correspond with a new regulator and theres no windows anywhere or channels to put them in? I must mention this is a door with a ventilator. so the door glass is smaller. but i cant find any glass at all? sorry, one site with full size glass. every other type of glass seems plentiful but no door glass? am I dumb? do you just get glass from the auto glass place? Really what Id like is to find the channel that clamps to the glass so I can use the glass I have with a new regulator. Is this a silly question? does the glass just come with that channel attached? if you can find a window? any help would be great. Ive come back to my car with my window partially down from closing the door and not noticing :(

Pictures?
Ugh, i put it all back together, its the same as the normal one just has the channel welded to the top of this piece at the top. I also dont think mine has this second circled piece as I couldnt find the corresponding bolts that bolt it on.

no one on where to buy glass? was it that stupid of a question? aren't people getting their cars broken into or driving tree branches through them and needing replacements? Im so confused.

Patience is your friend. Try the search function on Mud first. You have incorrect info and have pictured the incorrect regulator. For glass and more info try Specter (sor.com).
ha ha I searched :) and found no mentions of sources of glass mentioned anywhere. can you elaborate on the incorrect info? thats kinda why im here asking this. I looked all through peoples door builds, watched some ozzie door refurbishing in hopes of learning more about the breeze window equiped doors to no avail. so yeah. im here asking directly for some info from people that know more then I. the regulator i attached above is just to explain whats going on with mine as I didnt have time to take it apart again. you say this the wrong regulator, but that is THE regulator that comes up everywhere for late model 40's. that said i looked again at the SOR site and did find the vent window regulator, that hahaha looks so much different then all the others. I couldn't find it on amayama in any diagrams, nothing, no where else. that is the first ive now seen. so Im assuming that the vent window style door window comes with that channel welded to the sliding channel? didnt seem to be any door windows on SOR though that i could find. and still cant find a picture new or used of a vent window version door window.

sor.com page 126:

126-30-V-U $195
126-64A-A $130
126-64A-U $105
126-37B-W-A $150
126-38B-W-A $150

Go look. You're welcome.
hmmm, you must be way better at navigating the sor site then I am cause I cant find any of those numbers or glass period on that page or any page. can you paste links? I even searched the page with those numbers and they didn't give me any results :( edit* found those numbers but only if i search them in the main search. Links and a little more words is much more helpful, regardless found what i needed. dont actually need new glass just the regulator, which is sorted now. surprised by the lack of options for door windows, seems crazy, would have assumed glass would have been one of the top parts to be manufactured under the Gazoo program.

SOR has the worse search engine. I'll use the exact name of a part and it always comes up no matches. Does matter what I'm searching for it's always comes up no matches. Finally find the part and had the correct name from the start. What's the secret to finding parts on SOR site?.

Although Marv was my friend, I'm no apologist for their prices, shipping, searching protocol, inventory, or business model. Those numbers and prices weren't difficult to find on their website, and are accurate as of the day and time I researched them. When having difficulty finding parts out in the wider marketplace, or in a hurry, it's nice to have a number of vendors who are potential sources, some of whose sites are easy to navigate, and others not so. With that information a phone call could further gain a better understanding of what is needed, what is available, and possibly a recommendation of where else to look.

I attempted to help a fellow Mudder gain some knowledge and answers to his search when no one else seemed to share any alternatives.

The parts he wants are there if interested, and I wish him good luck in his endeavor to repair his truck, no matter where he sources what he needs.
