What happens if you turn the key twice in the driver's door?

Do youself a favor and buy a power probe 3.

power probe video - Google Search - https://www.google.com/search?q=power+probe+video&client=ms-android-samsung&sxsrf=ALeKk03PlPuL7-BbOGyxAksjJAHNpjepcA%3A1622479908447&ei=JBS1YJbeGsr4-gTV6LGIBA&oq=power+probe+video&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAMyBQgAEIsDMgkIABAHEB4QiwMyCQgAEAcQHhCLAzIGCAAQBxAeMgYIABAHEB4yBggAEAcQHjIGCAAQCBAeOgQIABBHOgUIABDNAlCZvwFY-skBYJPMAWgAcAF4AIABqAGIAZQKkgEDMC45mAEAoAEByAEIuAEDwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:677c4dd1,vid:FuzfCOlA1Vw,st:0

I wouldn't even consider opening up a door to try and work on windows or lock problems without one of these. It will give you the ability to bypass all the wires and switches so you can directly check the electric motors. Than you can keep applying power to the circuit to find the problem. For instance you could apply power to one side of the master switch and everything works, than apply power to the other side and nothing works. Now you know you need a new master switch

Turning the key twice unlcoks the driver door only.

This is the pink and wire, goes to a connector, nothing plugged in.

This is an old splice, on the blue/orange wire.

This is the blue/yellow wire splice. Nothing connected any longer.

This is a splice on the red/yellow wire, nothing connected though.

This one is odd. There is a blue/red wire with a connector, goes to nothing. Then there is a blue/white that is wrapped back on itself and taped.

odd.

There is nothing under the seat. No sign of anything being there previously. No box like I've seen in other posts.

I checked between the door and the body, looks fine. Haven't opened up that plastic covering, not sure if that's a good idea.

I'll get the probe :)

Running out of ideas.

That splice without the 20amp fuse (inplace) has me concerned. Not for the lack of fuse, but some has been in there.

Are those red things fuse holders? Sorry, I'd guess that's a dumb blond question. I didn't know that though. I thought that's where a wire was spliced into an existing wire.

It's worth noting that my dome lights have never worked either. Another reason that I think it goes back to an alarm system.

Looks like it. A blade 20amp fuse would go in there. They either pulled the fuse since the wire is a dead end by your description, or pulled it because it was popping or? I dunno.

Oops, looks like maybe a 25amp? Little hard for me to read from that angle.

So, a small 20 or 25 amp fuse goes in this? Or did? I wonder if it's worth putting one in for a minute. I got a better picture too.

Those are wire taps from an alarm install - someone took out an alarm badly.

What it looks like connected :

If you look on Page 8 of the install guide it also messes with the light control box in that kick panel which controls the dome courtesy lights so the alarm can turn on the interior light when it's unlocked and disarmed.

I'd say identify the connectors in there and see what's been tapped / changed and try to reset to factory - also none of those butt connectors are factory.

What year is the rig ?

It's a 1997 land cruiser.

Up above are the pictures of anything that has a tap on it. Nothing connected to any of them. The wires that don't connect to anything, I don't understand.

The Taps were installed as part of the alarm install - nothing should be connected to them - the blue wire wrapped on itself is a factory wire that's been disconnected for sure - let me grab my wiring diagram and check the connectors - I've a '97 as well so the wire colors should match.

Awesome, thank you! The blue/white wire that is wrapped is baffling. The blue/red that has a connector on it is too. Lastly, the 2 wire connector with a violet and pink wire get me.

I have an EWD, trying to make some sense out of it.

That blue / white wire is particularly interesting since it could be the ground for the power locks coming from the lock control module I think...

If so it should route to pin 11 on the BJ1 connector...

That connector is the big assed 20 ish pin connector in there - check to see if you have wires on that pin on both sides of the connector - I'd hazard a guess one side of the connector has a blue / white wide coming in and the other side is missing the partner wire.

The blue/white wire that is wrapped back on itself appears to go to position B21/12. There is a blue/white in position 11 that is connected. The one in 12 is the one that is in question.
