What year, Taylor? Early trucks didn't have door hinge bushings...

1967 Wagon
I took out bushings just like the 40's have but they are a different size.
I think I can make them out of copper tubing. Will let you know how it works out.

67 was first year for 40s and 45s.

I just compled the door bushings. Made them out of copper tubing about
1.50 at the hard ware store. About 2 inches each cut and flared one end
and reamed a little. Put bushing into door hing then installed pin for expantion
removed it then install door to cruiser. These worked great no more slop in
doors. Thanks for your help

what do you mean first year for 40s and 45s

not sure what you are saying, but i have a 65 and 66 FJ45LV?

I would be afraid that the copper bushings would wear out fast and also leave green stains running down the fenders when the start to react to the envioronment. Plastic or poly would be much better. Have you been to McMaster-Carr.com ?

I'm sayin that for FJ40s and FJ45LPBs, the hinges prior to 1967, like my 9/64, did not have bushings. Not sure if the FJ45 (L) Vs were the same way.

When I removed the old bushings from all the doors. One of them had a
copper bushing in it. It was in pretty good shape. This is what gave me the
the idea to do them all in copper. I am not to worried about them wearing out.

These bushings are on all my 45's. 2-64's and 1-66. I got em from Matt over a year ago.

Matt is out of these bushings. Did anyone buy extras? I need enough for one LV at minimum. Thanks, Mark

I purchased 30. Only 20 are needed per LV. But I have 3 LV's now.
