My 9 year old son and I have been to a all weekend "Ham Cram" to get our licenses. We are taking the test on Sunday, and I think Iam going to have to cheat off him. It's amazing how fast kids pick up stuff.

At the end of the month there is a event with the local Ham club and a local cub scout troop to talk to the space station. The HAM club has been on a two year waiting list to do his. I think my Son is going to be the youngest Ham in the city, and I think I've created a monster!!! :D

Good luck.

Back in 1963 when I was 13 I got my novice license and then my general a couple of months later. Had to go the to the FCC office for that one.

I learned a lot from having that license and hobby. I hope you will too. Always be safe. The radio voltages are a lot less lethal these days, but there are still a lot of hazards that hams can encounter.
