Hi I just found this 85' up for sale with no details. All I can see is that it does have a dual case setup, obv cage, bumpers, winch, etc.

Just wondering if anyone recognizes it or knows of the build on it. I believe it was from Southern California.

With all that wax pen writing on the windshield it looks like a Tow lot or Junkyard.

Well you need a dealer license to bid. I am not planning on getting it, but would liek to contact the owner. The starting bid is $1550. Most vehicles don't even have a starting bid, so someone obviously knows what they are looking at. I think it goes on the 27th. I am interested to see how much it goes for.

Listen man, I would FIRST try to cantact the previous owner! Second of all if the vehicle ended up at the auction it is there for a reason, and the previous owner is usually notified.

I don't like being told that I might be BEAT DOWN for doing legitamate business. It is not very often that a built rig comes to the auction. And if someone wanted to "beatme down" for legitamatly buying a vehicle than they are more than welcome and I will give them the address of my shop. Honestly, I don't think I would run into to many problems, haha.

People are blowing the whole thing way out of proportion in my opinion. I run a very honest business, and do not like to have my name looked down upon by folks that have no idea what they are talking about.

Don't act like I was responsible for someone losing their rig. I have nothing to do with it!

I completely agree how much passion people have for there vehicles being the owner of many FJ40's and an FJ60. It is sad to see I nice built rig go to auction. Honestly I think I would take care of it better than most. The only way I would dismantle this vehicle is if it was not built soundly.

I am succesful with what I do, and know how to handle my business and the best way to deal with the vehicles I recieve.

So would you rather a fellow crawler got this vehicle, or a chopper that would probably have no idea whta to do with it?

Thanks

Carpediem84 I like you. You and I would be friends

Your damned right in everything you said.

norcalborn maybe the next time you have a thought you should just keep it to yourself.

Thank you N8. The last thing I am trying to do is make enemies. I lead a very honest life both in business and in my personal life. I am not trying to pull one over on anybody. Just trying to make a living just like anyone else out there.

I just hope I don't get "beat down" trying. I can't get over that:D.

The post wasn't any threat, just advise as far as sticking your neck out like this, About how it seems people are taking your inquiry, sorry that you took it wrong, and I've deleted it so you don't have any more problems.

FWIW I admire that you're willing to stick your neck out, the problem is I see others who disagree, thus the "beat down" reference. Remember, just like you did with my post, people can read things wrong and jump to conclusions quickly.

It's human nature, right? I'm cool with you, hopefully the feeling is the same now that I explained a bit. Board names hide who folks are, besides..

*I know people who'd visit San Bernadino and check it out themselves. :D Remember Scott, you never know who'll read your posts, maybe even someone who might remember you from the 858 that's now living up here too. :D

Again, sorry if you took it all wrong. I'll buy you a beer next time I'm on our way to Tahoe. ;)

Hey no problem man. Thanks for posting. I think everyone reads between the lines on these forums. It is very difficult to get ones point accross in text.

Thanks again. You can come by the shop next time you are on your way up. I gave up the beers a while ago, but you can buy me an iced tea instead! :D

Take it easy.

Scott

Did you ever find out who owned it?

Cool..btw, same here as for beer/etc..."foofy" crap once in a blue moon, so tea's Ok w/ me, maybe a decent cheese steak or something along the lines. PM me where you're at these days, or is your old 858# still good?

Shane

Who's it is..*He could try a vin# run to get the vehix on it, but that info only goes so far, and the DMV is charging a buttload these days for vehicle track info. Also might be worth it to try Toyota for that stuff. He may have given up on it as the bid's reached too far for a vehicle w/ that type of title.
