for cowboy boots I always used to get drunk and wear them out on the town. Go dancin and have a good one. Take em off before bed and hope they(feet) don't ache in the morning.

The only doc's I had were the shoes. I liked them a lot. Super comfortable.

Doc Marten strongly warns against putting the boots in water.....mine took a little while but keep getting more and more comfortable to wear with time.

Yeah, I decided not to wet them, the foot part is feeling pretty darn good after 3 days of wearing them. The only place it's soar is up at the top of the boot where it rubs against my lower calf.

That neatsfoot oil that I posted about will soften the leather a lot. I just soaked a new pair of woorkboots in them and skipped the break in period.

The 'soak them and then wear them until dry' is tried and true - it'll work with any all leather boot. DON'T try to hurry the drying by putting them in an oven!

I used to do that. Until I was using a pair very roughly and wound up ruining the inner sole. It was bunched up under my toes (from alternatively kneeling and walking) I took it to the old school cobble of mine and he said "You didn't soak this in water, did you?" Ah.....

If you want to get the leater moist, maybe spray-bottle a little water inside, then outside and wear them to work up a sweat.

Havent Bought Docs since they started being made in Singapore...

wear them.

wore them in college quite a bit. i used the insoles from my running shoes instead of the ones that came with them. take the blisters from the first few days and move on. good shoes require an investment, just like anything else worthwhile. put in your time and you will reap the rewards for years to come.
