I wanted to give a photo for posterity of before and after I swapped my original LX450 on stock suspension for the Dobinson IMS stock height setup with the yellow foam cell steering damper. My truck was at 230k miles with the original dampers and coils. I gained a lot of clearance. The ride is definitely firmer, but I also don't feel like I'm going to go out of control over 65 on a turn. Let me know if you have any questions. For reference, I have 31" Falken Wildpeak A/T4Ws on. The running boards were removed, cleaned, and painted in between photos. Everything else is stock and the same across both photos. I removed my tow hitch in the back, my rear wind deflector, and roof rack for painting as well, but they're missing in both photos.

Looks really good! I have the same springs sitting in my garage, just trying to make some decisions around shocks before installing.

How are you sealing up the holes for the wind deflector and rack? Dropping headliner and welding?

I love the IMS shocks if it helps at all.

On the roof--tape for now. I have a JDM rear deflector and matching window visors, and I'm debating going that route. I just can't decide if I want the US OEM spec or to jazz it up a bit. I do have one small rust spot to repair, so the roof liner will be dropped either way. I also either need to replace or weld shut the other rivnuts as they are a bit rusty, but the roof metal seems ok.

The IMS does seem to be a popular option and a good fit for what I want, highway and logging/forest service roads. I recently learned they are fully rebuildable for a reasonable price which makes them even more appealing. $350 a shock is my main hurdle ;)
