No trimming required but I dont like the look so I'm going to ditch them. I ordered up flare caps from Solvefunction

@SucioP

Hi, there! I'm in the market for an aftermarket rear bumper for my rig and am considering the Dobinsons. Would you be willing to post a few pictures of your rig w/ it? Maybe one of the rear of your 80 and a side angle? Also, did you put the flare caps from Solvefunction on your rig? Overall how do you like this bumper – is the build quality good/does it feel like it will provide good rear-end protection?

Thanks a bunch!

Sure thing. As a caveat, I dont wheel hard. This is a camping, tool around with my kids rig.

The good:
1. Heavy bumper w/ quality welds. I know there's been criticism of this bumper as compared to other options out there but I'm satisfied. Its stout.
2. Swingouts are stout, swing easily and no rattling when secured. (yes, I know I dont have a spare, daddys savin up for a new pair of shoes)
3. Break/turn/reverse lights are plenty bright and the pigtails are long enough to get inside the cab and splice in behind the quarter panel and out of the elements.
4. Crikey Mike is a good dude. Bought it on a black friday sale. It ended up being on backorder but he kept me updated, communicated often and answered my install questions.

The not so great:
1. The recovery points aren't integrated. I kept the OEM loops.
2. I dont like the chrome diamond plating. When I get around to Monstalining the flares, I'll cover that up.
3. The pintle bolts it ships with are too short. I think it ships with 50mm but I needed 60mm
4. The plate light is BRIGHT and the pig tail is like 18 in long. I ended up using a different connector and splicing in the least bad place I could find.

For my use case, its a great bumper.

Thanks much for all the info & pictures! Much appreciated – cheers!

Found another upgrade to the bumper. The C channel where the lights are attached, I drilled a 1/4” drain hole on the underside of it. I had a lot of accumulated clay and mud in there, which will keep the moisture level as there is no way out. With the holes in, I can now insert the hose nozzle through the jacking hole and get all the crud out.
