By the way, I don't have a sister and my mother does not have leukemia.

I just felt like I need to wrap up the work day and don't won't to send you home believing a lie that would cause you to lose sleep at night.

Rubber cement is better... well before they reformulated it.

www.petfinder.org

Search Doberman and your zip. I have probably rescued 30 dobes in the 8 years I did rescue. They are out there!

Petfinder is the way to go. We have five rescue dogs. All are great dogs and most if not all would be dead by now.

Adopt. You need a dog, they need a home.

What are you planning to do with the pup? Family pet, working dog or show dog? I know of some serious Doberman breeders in Va, but given your looking in the local paper, they might not be what you're looking for.

No show dog. Just my dog for as long as he/she lives.

I found a place in Athens, AL called Sugar Creek Kennels. They have a 10 wk old dobe. Anyone heard of this place? 10 weeks is the upper age range for ear crops(I've read). Would you guys go ahead and do it or just leave them flopping?

My grandpa was from Athens, but he wasn't a Doberman.

Leave'em floppin', unless you're getting yours pinned also.

Do you guys like the floppy look or is it because of the hassle of cropping and caring?

Both. Cropping, even w/best vet & aftercare, doesn't guarantee the ears will stand. Save the money, hassle, and pain, keep 'em natural.

another vote for rescue.

I've found some in bham that will be ready june 16th. There are 2 males left so hopefully I can get one.

Just got off the phone with her. 1 male left. I am going to check him out this afternoon. And sorry to disappoint but, the ears will be cropped.

it's all good. had two w/cropped, current boy is floppy, who knows what the next will be...

pix when ya get em.

Cropping is painful and cruel. It has been banned in many areas. I am so glad our Dobie has his natural ears. Now docking the tail on the other hand.

I just bought a Dobe about 2 hours ago. He will be 6 weeks old Saturday and I will pick him up next Friday!
