I see far more resemblance between the Highlander and 200 than the 4runner and the 200 which is funny considering how nearly everyone who compliments my truck calls it a 4runner. I can absolutely see how people would get a stock 200 confused with a Highlander.
I have to admit...that when the 200 FIRST came out, I hated the look of it...because from a distance, I too would mistake them for Highlanders and vice versa. When they are next to each other, it's obviously smaller, but in 2007-8, I thought they both looked similarly balloonish.
I picked up a part for my daughter's Volkswagen last year and had to drive into the service bay to park (at the VW dealership). On the way back from the parts department, one of the service writers asked me if my that was my Sequoia and then went on to tell me how much he likes them and that was his family's dream car and he was going to have one soon. I thought about correcting him but just said thanks! I saw him looking at my 200 as I drove off and wondered what he thought of the Land Cruiser badge on the back.
