Do I Really Need Dual Batts? What say you?

Regarding the AGM, I read somewhere on MUD that it can be drawn down so low that the NOCO won't work. I went conventional after reading that.

Same with flooded batteries also. That's where an old school transformer battery charger comes in handy, it can resurrect really dead lead acid chemistry batteries.

I built my 80 with dual batteries. With all of the other stuff on the front of the truck it just feels heavy up there. Then I got the mini crawler and i began debating. I like running a fridge And I like the comfort of a second battery. Didnt get around to it but havent done a trip with significant enough time from home to really motivate me. And where would the battery go? Then I acquire a 40 wheeler.... This left me thinking of how to easily move a fridge between 4 vehicles In the easiest fashion. I bought a Dometic battery pack. Plug one end to a cigarette plug that turns off with the ignition and the other to the fridge. Voila. Turn the truck off and the Dometic pack takes over seamlessly. Home testing the battery pack will run the fridge for 2.5 days. I have a square waterproof bucket mounted in the crawler where the battery pack will live and I’ll feed the cord in though the back window and then the fridge in the bed. I’ll test it out on an epic trip this summer with a few over nights around home to get prepared. With this set up I dont think I will do a dual battery set up again, although I enjoyed building the set up in the 80.
