Do Gaz/Petrol and Diesel caps are interchangeable?

Hi folks,
looking for a new fuel tank lock for my pickup, I see that there are parts with the inscription either Gaz/Petrol or Diesel...
Does the part "Cylinder Key Set/Fuel Filler Lid" for pickups is interchangeable, no matter of fuel (Gaz/Petrol or Diesel)?

Hello,

I understand gasoline/petrol caps have different valves than diesel caps. The former is more volatile than the latter and needs pressure relief more often.

It seems that diesel specific caps must have the "Diesel" inscription engraved on them...
