i was thinking hacking the legs down to 4-5" nubs, welding caps on them, and then bolting some sleeves onto my rack. slide the nubs into these sleeves and stick a cotter pin into each one. i havn't ordered one yet, just spent a good amount the other day on some other camping stuff, but i'm definately going to do this. by far the easiest option i can come up with. cheaper too then anything i could make myself.

as for being cheaper direct, i actually found it to be cheaper through cabelas since they include the rain fly, which i would want. buying direct, you have to buy it seperate and it comes to a little more. plus tent cots version is the newer version, which i would want were it not for what i have specifically planned for it. it's domed at the top now, requires running a couple poles on the inside. gives more head room, water doesn't collect on top, but i'm looking for fastest setup. also the legs look funky, tapered and not tubular, not ideal for my "sleeve" idea.

i found one of their older double models though that is the same thing as the cabelas for a good price that i am hoping will pan out here.
