Somebody please tell me what I am missing. I hooked up vent hoses to the distibutor cap (78 small cap dist on a 78 2F with stock air cleaner & aisen carb), ran one to an air cleaner nipple & ran one inside the cab.
When I started it, BAMM, the distributor cap exploded. Biggest piece was about the size of a quarter, pretty cool after I figured it out, fuel fumes worked down to the dist then the spark ignited.
Is there a check valve that should be there between the dist & the air cleaner that I am missing, or pls tell me where exactly to put the hose going to the air cleaner? I don't want to sacrifice another $20 cap.
