Today I received my genuine Toyota Land Cruiser distributor tune up parts.
The distributor part number is 19100-61080,ND 029100-7562, and is what I believe to be a genuine Toyota distributor.
The problem was the point set was not the same. My points from this distributor has a pin shaft holding the two parts together were the dealer one has none making me think it is for a distributor that had a shaft on the base plate. Mine has a hole were the shaft pin will seat in when installed. See photos.
Can anyone give me the correct PN for the points so I can order the right one.
Or am I looking at some deeper problems?
The Part number the dealer sent is 04191-40010
Thanks in advance:meh:

If I remember right on my old 74 when I ordered the points I had the same problem and was told it changed to the other setup for different years but that prob doesnt really help

I'm sure they have superseded a few parts and part numbers. I asked when ordering and they said the part numbers were all for that model distributor. I broke my own rules and trusted them as I usually take my old parts with me when ordering or picking up to confirm they are correct, I'm bad.:bang:

When you mount the new plate in your dizzy with the two screws already in there...and mount the points spring on the plate...does it not contact the hex on the shaft?

Points part number wanted

I'm not to sure of your question. Are you suggesting that a new plate is to be installed, then the points? As you can see the part that runs on the hex shaft to open and close the points is much longer as so is the point contact arm its self.
The points that the dealer gave me said they match the component list for the distributor part number, but visibly this is incorrect.
The lack of a shaft on the new is telling me that it is incorrect, as compared to the points on the left that were installed.
Anyone have the correct part number or a good ref to check?
Thanks:cheers:

Thanks for the PM.
So you say the distributors old number was 19100-61010 and was changed to 19100-61080. So the part number might be 19145-26060 for the points. WOW I am lost at all the numbers. Now I am wondering about the rest of the parts. The old dizzy number you gave me comes up for US, CAN, JAP, EUP. The new number does not come up at all???
Must be a lot of after market parts with Toyota on them.
Thanks much

Install a petronix kit and never worry about it again....

Points

As said the two point sets are different and the pin cannot be removed, no crossing parts.
Now the Petronix kit I like to know more about, anyway to cross reff my distributor part number?
Like that.

I have the same distributor that you have but the points from Toyota that I use have a PN 04191-41010 which are the same as your original set. One piece with the pin in place. Points come with lube and a plastic shield. Hope this helps.

The Points

ColonelMustardFJ40, yes that is a big help. It seems as the NON USA model distributors are not on the Toyota US parts list (should of known) so they have no listing for this PN 19100-601080 dizzy sold by a lot of US after market Land Cruiser dealers. This morning I went in and talked with the Toyota parts guy and to my surprise he said this is nothing new, as he See's a mass of confusion on the older parts all the time as now China is making after market Toyota parts and part numbers are flying everywhere and many that Toyota just cant list and wont.
So with that said all you guys out there that have a after market Non USA dizzy and you need parts soon I hope you have a part number or plan on doing some leg work.
Your part number cross refs with a 19145-26060 point set. So that tell me I am now on the right track. Both should be the same just different numbers

Interchange : Toyota 04191-41010, 19103-33011, 19103-33012

X2 on pertronix, you just need a new coil and pertronix unit that replaces your points, its overall a somewhat inexpensive upgrade at roughly $150. It is so worth it.

If you decide to go pertronix, here is the cross reference list. If you want the pertronix II (you do!), add 9 in front of the part number. I have the same dizzy on my non-US vehicle. I went pertronix and never looked back. I've had it 2-3 years and it starts first time/every time and there's nothing to go out of adjustment. I checked the timing recently and it hasn't changed from when I installed it. I do carry a spare set of points in the glove box tho...just in case.

I'm pretty sure now that I will go with the Pertronix kit, part number 91662, # two, after the holidays are over. Found it on Amazon for about $108. That's without the coil. Do you have the pertronix coil or running stock?
I will get the dizzy I now have up and running then get the kit and remove the points from Hell and do the same, use them for just in case proposes.
Thanks

You can stick with stock, What I did was go to a 12v Toyota coil, removed the ballast resistor, and upgraded the coil wiring for more current. This allowed me to go with a gear reduction starter.....typical cruiser project scope creep.

I think the problem like others mentioned was the part number. Here is the Toyota points part number 04191-41010 I just purchased. They were around 7.50 each.
