Really like the Dissent rear bumper with swing arms that was installed by Bucks 4x4 in Boise, ID last month on my 2019 200LC, but I just can't find source of high frequency rub/rattle. Some times it goes away for a short period but then always comes back. I'm not talking about the pop when I hit a big pot hole or the like and I think that is just the mount hitting the striker plate and I understand that is probably normal.
I have watched the videos and adjusted the swing arms so just barely fit fender washer width in between striker plate, which I think is correct. I have tightened all bolts and removed tire (BFG AT KO 285 60 R18) and adjusted angle but still get high frequency rattle.
I have added/subtracted fender washers to the bump stops for the swing arms and still get noise - even added so many washers that swing arm was very hard to close, but to no avail.
What I'm wondering now is if the tech at Bucks 4x4 should have installed the rubber strips that were to fill in space below the 200LC rear quarter panels? Installer went on to say how he cut the panels perfectly and didn't need the rubber spacer strips (see attached photo). I'm wondering if this isn't the squeaking I'm hearing where metal bumper is ever so slightly rubbing on plastic rear panels? If so will need to figure out how to trim the quarter panels back to accommodate the rubber strips.
Any advice appreciated as I have tried about everything to get rid of that high frequency noise without success and Dissent hasn't gotten back to me.

You will definitely want a gap between the bumper and the body plastic, most likely the cause of the noise you're hearing.

From the installation guide from Dissent.

Thanks for the advice, now have to figure out how to trim back plastic fenders 5/8"? Maybe a job for a body shop as not sure what kind of tool to trim back that plastic after scribing in a line - Dremel?

I use a jenga block and a multitool. bulb trim hides a lot of sins anyway

Oscillating tool with a block under the flat blade works very well. Since the dissent bumper is flat, you can just put the jenga block or whatever on that and keep the oscillating blade flat. Just don't cut to deep and you'll be fine. Mark it up with masking take, so you have a visual guide too. I used a big "half moon" looking oscillating blade. Then put on some rubber trim.

I also really recommend checking the torque on the big swing-arm mount bolts. They should be f'n tight. I don't know the torque spec, but I tightened mine a lot.

As the folks above mentioned, you ABSOLUTELY need a gap between the bumper and the body. The body and bumper move independantly of each other and they will come into contact. Ben explains why here.

Fix that and see if the noise goes away. If not feel free to contact us so we can help you fixure out where the noise is coming from. :) AND, share this video with the installer so they don't make the same mistake in the future.
