I recently bought a 1967 stock Cruiser... ...I went to check the oil, but to my dismay there was no dipstick sticking out of the Ol' F... ....I found a small outcropping where I'm almost positive it should be...There is threaded bolt where the dipstick tube should be I believe. It is right behind the Oil filler tube, and in front of the distributor. My question is...Is the Oil Dipstick tube threaded or a pressed in fitting? I can't tell by looking in my SOR book...or manual...Any information would be much appreciated....

Thanks Poser and Bull...Hated to have my first question on here be about a dipstick...This F engine must not have ever had one? My block is threaded with a bolt that resembles an oil pan drain plug, where I believe the dipstick tube goes. Poser told me that the dipstick tube was pressed and not threaded? I'd like a dipstick for ease of checking my oil...otherwise...I'll have to wrench the bolt off each time ...and fab a measuring stick...I tried to post a pic...but need to format my jpeg into a smaller format...Thanks again Bull for the LandCruiser museum tour...It was greatly appreciated...and for selling me my Cruiser...
