A new body shell should do it. Although I don't know how easy/hard would that be but sure does sound whole lotta easier than pounding dents out.

Sorry for your loss. How did you wind up in this situation? There has to be a story in there? BTW, I like your rims.

:eek::eek::eek:

That sucks! Glad you're OK, but man, that was an expensive river crossing...

Sniff sniff.......I'm......Sniff sniff.....Sniff....... So sorry for .......Sniff sniff.....your loss! At least no one was hurt. Man that sucks!

dude, we need a story!!! How? Why? How long after the bailout did you take the first picture? Was it that deep when you bailed?

Wow, that really blows. Sorry it ended up like that.

Story is,i went up to check out the site for an off road event that i had arranged for the sunday,i wanted to see how bad the site was due to the heavy rain,
this part of the river is never any problems to cross, but not this time,
the motor went into a large hole and cut out,
the weather was too bad for anyone to rcover it.
on the sunday the truck had been washed further down the river, weather still too bad for recovery.
The weather was better on the monday so we could get a large tractor into the river and tow it back up and out.
Insurance does not cover the vehicle for offroading,as it was not the one that would have been used for the event..:crybaby:

Have you tried to start it?

Have you tried to start it?

Don't 'just try to start it' as it is hydrolocked for sure after rolling around in the river like that.

Get it into a shop, drain the fluids (mostly river water by now) from the engine, transmission, transfer cases, brakes, steering, gas tank.

Put in new oil. Go cheap because you won't have it in there long.

Take the intake off and drain it.

With the spark plugs out, turn the engine over a few times to push the water out of the pistons.

Put 5 gallons gas in it, plugs back in, see if it will fire up.

You may still have a good engine, driveline, frame... Do they make/use buggies in Scotland?

Thats about all that's left.

But don't just try to fire it or you'll stand a good chance of bending big parts in the engine as it tries to compress water (not compressible).

IMHO YMMV I'm not a mechanic.

when i posted the picture on saturday of its hood in the river i never thought for a minute it would end up like this,,,everything is wrecked and it had only done 60,000mls

Damn pity.

It certainly is. I am surprised he kept cool through the ordeal.

IMHO, that is enough to make a grown man cry. :crybaby:

Relax, alright? My old man is a television repairman. He's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it!

Best movie ever.

Glad nobody was hurt. Looks like it is buggy time.

WOW! Sorry to see it ended like that. . . :frown: Glad you are ok.

I stalled my 40 in a similar situation. It moved downriver only a few feet and became parallel with the current - luckily did not roll over though. I was able to recover it within an hour with a tractor, log winch and 160' of 3/8" cable. Your pics remind me that I'm lucky!

I rolled my 95 and my insurance not only covered it, they paid me high book value. They knew that I was offroading with my club, doing trail work. The only question they had was, "Was it during an event, that I had paid an entry fee?" The answer to that question was NO....thankfully. If I had paid to offroad, they would not have covered anything on my rig.

beause if you had, they would have expected the event insurance to cover you instead. However, most event insurance covers only medical needs incured by participants, not rigs...
