Well all back together finally. No more noise! Cant say what it was for sure as I ended up replacing so much. New bearings in the diff...new gears...in addition to all the standard axel service stuff. But it seems solid now.
Does feel like it needs an alignment now though. Steering wheel is off center a bit.
