Hi all

I'm looking to order some 4.56 gearing for my shorty as with 35s and a 1fz it feels really under powered down low and I constantly have to grab 4th or 3rd when I want to go upwards...which happens quite a bit here in Colombia.

Can anyone confirm what spline count a 2003 fzj71 would have. Short of pulling off the flange and looking I haven't been able to find much info and I'm not sure given this is a south american truck what the similarities or differences would be between here and say an early 79 series back in Australia.

Cheers

Dave

Hello,

71 Series usually have 4.11:1 gears.

In theory, 4.11:1 allow up to 35 in. tires, especially if their width is up to 10.5 in. Big and wide tires can be too much for 70 Series trucks.

As for 4.56:1 gears, there are suppliers out there. I remember reading Yukon makes a kit, but I am not sure.
