What you'll need
6 quarts of oil. I used 5 but you can always return the extra quart
2 quarts of ATF for the T-case
24MM or 15/16 socket deep or shallow
1 breaker bar
1 hand pump (Napa's 5.49 one works fine)
A big drain pan about 6 quarts will come out
10mm Allen wrench
12mm socket if you have a skid plate

Extra’s I used
Anti-seize

This job doesn’t take that long if you know what you’re doing and I recommend doing this in a well ventilated area. All of the sizes for sockets and the nuts are stock I believe. I started with the rear differential; I first did the FILL plug, ALWAYS do it first so you don’t end up in trouble and have to have your truck towed to the shop to get it off. After I got it off I removed the drain plug and let the oil drain. I cleaned the nut and washer and put anti-seize on it, after reinstalling the drain plug I filled the rear diff using Schaeffer’s gear oil. It took 2 and half quarts for me to do the rear diff. If you want to speed up the process of getting the oil in let it sit in hot water for 10ish minutes. Goes in like water. Keep putting the oil in until it over fills.

Next I did the front diff. It’s just a repeat of the rear only thing different is it’s harder to get the breaker bar in if it’s too long. I used a 2/8 breaker bar to do this on. After the front I did the transfer case. This one can be tricky if you don’t know where the drain plus is on an a340h transmission.

(Side Note) The transfer chain case (at the very rear of the transfer case) on an A340H drains and fills independently of the rest of the transfer case and the transmission. You change the fluid in the chain case by opening the large drain and fill plugs at the very rear of the transfer case (these two face the rear of the vehicle). You can change this fluid (approx 1.2 quarts) without draining the transmission and the rest of the transfer case.

Two small drain plugs (one on the large transmission pan and the other on the small transfer case pan). Let the fluid drain out (around 5 quarts or so), re-install both drain plugs, and re-fill through the filler tube. Yes, this will get fluid into both pans... more specifically; the fluid will overflow from the large pan into the small pan after you get approx 3.5 quarts in there. (I started refilling mine with the drain plug not re-installed on the small transfer case pan just to ensure that it would also be filled.)

As for the transfer case the above paragraph explains how it works and how to change it. I pulled that from Yotatech.

When I did my T-case I had to use a 24mm for the fill plug and a 10mm allen wrench for the drain plug. After I got it drain I put anti-seize on the bolts and put the drain plug back in. in order to get it on or off you may need to remove the T-cases skid plate. I then attached the pump I got from Napa and put it in the fill hole and pumped until it over flowed. I have attached a photo of the T-case and where the drain and fill plugs are.
