Did my springs get installed right?

My question is this: I had a local shop install the OME springs on my 97 LX450. I have an ARB front bumper with a 12000 winch (back bumper is stock). So, we got the heavy duty springs for the front, and the medium duty for the back (along with the matching shocks). It's now been about 2 weeks and the truck still has a lot of rake to it, almost as if they put the mediums in the front and the heavy duty in the back! Is there any way now that the springs are on the truck to tell which ones they are?

Death to Mothra!

I think one side is longer than the other on the fronts, so unless you've got severe cruiser lean, don't know if it's possible. Then again, I'm not the expert here.

Go look under the truck at the springs. There is probably a white tag on each of the springs, unless the shop tore them off. The front driver's side should read "OME850 B", the rear ds should read "OME860 B". The passeenger's side should be same except read A instead of B. Those numbers could vary... get back to us once you've looked.

They have labels on them from the factory, if the instaler didn't pull them, read the part numbers.

I Have The Wrong Springs...

Okay, I did as you guys suggested and pulled the tag off the RF coil spring, and the tag reads:

OME861 A

This indicated that I have the wrong springs on the front; what I needed was the OME850's ( I knew it - the truck had just TOO much rake - I'll never second-guess my gut again ). The local shop is swapping them out on Wednesday no charge.

Thank you Christo, BrianinAustin, Brentbba, and Tools R Us, for your input. Very cool!

The 861s are the low height front springs, supposed to yield 10mm over stock.

Your front is about 40mm lower with those as opposed to the 850s.

If they know what they are doing, it should take them a half hour to swap.

Shop sounds like it employs some dumb asses. They should have realized when they saw the rake, if not first checking for the correct spring. Good guys though considering they are not jacking with you. Maybe integrity is more important than ability. Who knows?

OME 861 A would be a Passenger Front spring with a 10MM lift.

The OME 850's are also front springs with a 50MM lift.

This is where I got the info at the bottome of the page HERE
