I don't think one is necessarily better than the other. They are both 200-series cruisers. Kitted out in different ways by the manufacturer. Great that we have a choice to suit our tastes, functionally and aesthetically.
And I take my LX off-road too. With fat 20's that have plenty of sidewall, AND sidewall bulge to keep terrain off the wheel face. 20 psi for hours on washboard roads, chasing a Raptor. With AHC reacting to terrain and keeping the body motions tightly in control but never jarring. Technical stuff isn't even a question with the 200-series. Along with lift on demand.
I've decided I don't need sliders for *my* type of wheeling. Part of the reason is that I have wide tires and spacers to keep the tires as lateral first point of contact. Also is that AHC keeps the body always up, over 3" higher off the ground regardless of load. Pair that with a 1-2" tire lift, and another 1.5" AHC sensor lift. ~6" lift on demand without drooping if I were to build my rig that way.
Spindle grill... well, I don't disagree with you.
I take my LC off-road. I’m not a fan of 20” wheels. I want a bigger sidewall. That lets the tire squat more when airing down for the beach, provides better protection of the wheel against potholes and rocks, and provides a softer ride (at the expense of slightly poorer handling).
Personally, I can’t stand the spindle grille on new Lexi. YMMV.
