Trip Wrapup
I want to thank all the members of ONSC and the other clubs (UC, Lowcountry, Swampfox) that attended our last trip of the year, it was a great one. Cross all the different clubs, we're estimating about 24-26 rigs came out, this includes Darin on his other "cruiser"!
I really hate that we have to split up into different groups, as some people only are out for half the day, and we miss a lot of interaction with those people. Kudos for those that came out, but had to cut it short.
Brock did mention earlier, we did not have an "Easy" group, however the Sunday group took some easy trails after a long Saturday of riding. This shows us that at least inside ONSC, that the level of experience/comfort of off-roading is growing inside the group, as we usually have always had an Easy group.
I was afraid that we might have some hold ups on the trail due to the number we had, and there was a Rover group, and a FJC group on the same day. Only real problem area that we seemed to have was at Kodak, but that seems to be usual.
Only minor issues as far as repairs, and nothing that held us up too much.
Thanks again to the Monk family for letting us use their facilities! It was a great setup, private, large enough for us all. We didn't have to worry about any noise or adult beverage issues. I don't think we had anyone leave Saturday night hungry or thirsty.
Thanks to everyone who stepped up and cooked for the horde! Food was wonderful, and the fellowship was even better!
If we take away one negative item is, and we see it each time we meet at the Outpost, is getting out on time and knowing the plan of the day. I feel rsponsible for us not meeting up at lunch, and some might feel it a little hectic leaving for the trails.
We have been talking about a more formal system in which to conduct the trail meeting and make it more efficient, and we'll make sure our first Uwharrie trip follows this plan.
