1988 troopy hj75., 370k on the clock. When I decelerate in low gear, mostly second, I get a hum hum hum noise. I am guessing it is a loose pinion preload which would wear the whole differential eventually. It never was so pronounced but a very obvious sound now. Doesn't sound evil, kind of happy but most likely not good. Probably pull the diff and have a look?
