I think I still have an unused rare red sticker and a few Clemson Mafia ones also un-circulated as well.
Watch for 'em on e-bay one day. :grinpimp:

Back in the day, before UC was conceived at the Chinese Restaurant in Clemson, I had to have a crank
for my F made in Australia...purdy billet job. Uber $$$$. The best or nothing for a Legend.
Anyway it came by boat and then by UPS.
Thing is when it got state side and made it to Anderson S.C., UPS went on strike.
What am I going to do?!!!!!
The wife and I brewed a big thermos of hot Sumatra coffee and stopped at a Krispy Kreme and
went to Anderson. We supplied the boys with their signs refreshment and I volunteered to
carry a sign while they took a break and had their coffee and doughnuts.
"The Man is breaking ya'lls balls....down with management. " I entombed.
When they finished the early morning snacks I sprung the trap.
"Damn shame management being an arse like this is keeping me from building my Land Cruiser
motor. I have a crankshaft in there that came from across the sea and now it's stuck in there for who knows how long."
Some of them had delivered Cruiser goodies to my office for years.
"Hang on David!"
Two guys left and shortly they returned with my big ol crate.
"Screw Management AND the Union, David, here's your part!"
We profusely thanked the boys and went straight to the shop.
It's still slinging with the pistons in Gundy to this day.
Gundy meet.webp

Cool story. I actually worked there during the strike. I was hired 45 days prior to the strike, and you don't get into the Union until after your 90 day review. If I joined in the strike, I was told by my friend and manager that the higher ups would probably fire me. So, my job was unloading trailers. During the strike I got promoted to sorter, then I got to ride in the trucks for deliveries for about 2 weeks. I already made about $15 hour, but because I was only part time I had to stay under 21 hours. Anything over that was time 1/2. I worked about 50 hours a week, from 5am until 4pm. Most money I ever made until I turned 25 7 years later.

Great times. I loved driving through the lines every morning as they called me a scab. They all knew I had to, but they liked being dramatic.
