Some Valley folks are considering a daytrip on Saturday. Up the east side of Harrison to Silver Creek...play around...cook some smokies...casual just get out and enjoy day. If time is available, and we want, we might head up the west side to Sunrise in the later part of the day.

Sounds like a 08:00 am start in Abby.

The BC4wd is having their monthly maintenance run too, for those who want to help and meet some new folks. I really want to attend a few of these, but our plans just came together just in the last week:

> The Four Wheel Drive Association will be hosting our West Harrison
> Maintenance Run on this Saturday, July 14. As always, we meet at the
> Sasquatch Inn at 9:30am and depart from there at 10:00 (SHARP!).
>
> I have obtained signs from the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and the Arts
> which highlight the Association's commitment to supporting these
> recreation sites -- so the "work" for the day will be to install these
> signs at the Francis Lake, Sunrise Lake and Hale Creek sites. (The
> signs state "This site is maintained through the volunteer efforts of
> the Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia"). Site cleanup of
> Francis and Sunrise Lakes are the primary "work" items of the day. Hale
> Creek will be occupied by the Young Men's Adventure Weekend
> (www.ymaw.com) and therefore we will not be attending that site.

> Running trails is the remaining order of the day! Based on the number
> and types of vehicles participating, there are a number of trails and
> destinations that may be selected, including the Lookout Lake loop and
> the Weaver/Francis connector.
>
> Mike Brent (yellow Rubicon) will be this month's trail leader.

Pictures in order are:

The start

Scout digging for rubies at Silver Creek

Poo caught wheeling again

A visitor leaving the tubs as we arrived

The tubs

Mineshaft

Was supposed to be a PZJ77 on the trip too, but they left too late, and we just missed them at Silver Creek, after having lunch and visiting for a while while waiting. We figured to see what the slides looked like on the road to Clear Creek Hotsprings. Before we knew it we were at the tubs! A few winter/spring slides that are now passable...however the watchman at the old sort yard mentioned the road will be opened again in a few weeks: Take that for what it's worth. We saw one quad up at the tubs, and a few on the trail.
