In my case, it's not the entire hood, nor is it bolts. It's the center of the hood only. I have a new latch and the center vibrated with both old and new latches. It's just a case of vibrating metal. If I had to guess, in my situation, it has less to do with wind and more engine vibration. I desperately need a tune-up and if my engine is vibrating and +70 then it has to be affecting a thin piece of aluminum a mere 3" away from it....

Should we poll all the dancing hood people and ask them if they feel they need an engine tune-up?

There seems to be some confusion....we have really two SEPERATE issues in this thread.

One a hood that moves as one piece - up/down/left/right- whatever...this needs readjusted....

The second is JUST THE OUTER SKIN of the hood that flexes in and out at highway speeds.

Yep two very seperate and distinct issues with two/three different fixes. The "whole hood" issues are typically caused by the latch or the rubber adjusters located on either end of the core support. This is an easy fix. The popping up and down in the center area is AKA "oil canning". This is more often than not due to the seperation of the hood from its reinforcing caused by aging/cracking of the glue. The hood attached to the reinforcing with a two part glue type of stuff (I forget the actual name at the moment). It can be obtained at the local autobody supplier...but beware it uses a special double barrel gun that squirts it on. Not wanting to purchase said special gun myself, the jobber hooked me up with a single stage foam/glue stuff that is similar but not exactly to what the factory uses. I applied it liberally to the areas of the hood/reinforcement...let it set up...and no more "oil canning" at speeds. If I can remember the name of the two part stuff I'll post back...until then any good autobody supplier can put you on to it.
