wanted to go visit a buddy in Lockwood Valley this weekend as we had planned to go romp in the snow a bit...

Well, apparently everything was closed on the 5 side because of hordes of hapless Angelenos who were trying to go trespass and play in the snow and get stuck cuz they don't know what they are doing...

And on the other side (33) the road was closed cuz of a mud slide. I'm sure the damn idiots from LA are responsible for that too....

grrrr....

so no snow for me this weekend. Ended up taking the DD up the coast for a bit....

damn tourists...

LOL! Talking about damn tourists, on my drive back from our cabin I was watching all the tourists playing in the snow along Sunrise Highway. It always amazes me to see how many people block the lane of traffic when they park and climb through barbed wire fences postes every 50 feet with "restricted area" and "private property, no tresspassing". It should have been a field day for the local sheriffs dept.

We went to the 79 by Lake Cuyamaca on Saturday. There were all kinds of idiots out there. Blocking the road, driving off the road and getting stuck, you name it. Some bozo in a big 4x4 was strapping someone out of the ditch and was using the guy's suspension as a tug point. I told him he was going to kill someone.

There is a sliver of the ABDSP that cuts across the 79 just north of the lake. The park service was having a field day writing tickets.

Oh, and the SDG&E helicompter was buzzing the power lines right above our heads. That was cool.
