Hi everyone,
So I screwed up pretty good today. Wanted to replace my front main seal and oil pump gasket. Everything was going smoothly (shout out @CPACruiser for the tool).
When I went to remove the old front main seal I wrapped my seal removal tool in a cloth to try and not mar anything which in hindsight might have done more harm than good since I couldn't see that my seal removal tool was resting on the crank and proceeded to scratch the crank and timing cover. The damage to the timing cover, while ugly and painful, seems to only be in front of where the new seal is now resting so I don't think it will impact performance. My question is how bad is this scratch on the crank. The scratch seems to only exist where the harmonic balancer sits so I don't believe it will impact anything but I'm also an idiot who did the damage on the first place so I wanted to get the opinions of those far more knowledgeable than me . Thanks in advance
