I have a new to me rust free M101, and originally thought about cutting in a tail gate...I had no problem cutting a hole in my 40's fender for a snorkle, but am hesitant to open up the trailer...I've seen some guys put on strut assisted lids, but is it still a PITA to load up? I do at some point want an RTT on the trailer, and realize not having a tailgate really limits me...but...

Opinions? should I just grab the zip wheel and do it?

Do it

Cut the hell outta the thang.

Mine's at a shop right now gettin' butchered into lil' pieces. :grinpimp:

If there's a purist that is offended by this coarse of action ... offer to sell it to 'em at twice what you paid for it.

Exactly! My M101 is going to be sandblasted, cut, welded, painted, etc over the next 2-4 weeks. It's your trailer, do with it as you please. If someone doesn't like it...:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:

Its just a trailer man, cut it...
Or store it for the next 50 years as an investment and make a wee fortune I'm sure:D

Man, you canadians say wierd things :D

Just kidding, I agree, it is just a trailer, chop it up for me a tailgate would add value.

Done, I zipped it right after the first post...

I cut mine. Best usability thing I ever did next to the drop wheel. I just hauled 12 sheets of OSB this weekend and the only way it would have fit was the drop gate I put on it. I need to paint mine up, but very happy with it other than that.
