custom tank drain

You'll be doing the same as I did. Just drill a hole in one corner and make your own drain for next time. You can see the drain I got and the tank in the truck before the drain. If you want a picture with the drain I can always take one but it's in the front drivers side corner of the tank (that way it's as much out of harms way as possible).

So you just drilled and slowly screw the drain plug in (so as to create threads). I was wondering if there was some type of self tapping that needed to be done to created this drain. You made it look easy peasy:clap:
 
No, there is a nut in there too along with a copper sealing washer (can't have that black gold dripping out). You can see where the tank got hot from the welding/soldering process. It works best if you get it CLEAN and then solder, welding or brazing doesn't seem to work as well, at least not for me.
