Hello all, I'm a newbie to the forum and am in the process of building my first FJ40. I'm going for a street and trail rig. I don't care about it being original
I bought a rolling '69 frame and tub in pretty decent condition and with a clear title. I've already replaced the rear body support and rear seal area as well as some isolated rust spots. I have the windshield, top, doors, and firewall forward off of an '81 FJ40.
My current plan is to stretch the wheel base a bit and use the existing drive train out of my '92 SAS'd mini truck. It has a 5VZ-FE and R151F.
I have future hopes of going to a diesel engine and 80 series axles, but we'll see.
I've read and referenced articles from Mud for a long time, but finally decided to join.
