Crusier Days trip - last second reminders and times
So after scouting the trail there are a couple of things I want to mention to all interested that you should be prepared for. We will be meeting at Harrison Chevron at 6 - 6:30pm on Saturday and departing from there, I would highly recommend either getting fuel there or somewhere close (especially you gassers). We are taking East Harrison to Cogburn Creek FSR (North trail), for a full report on the scouting trip see post 9 . The main Harrison trail is very dusty, air down before you hit gravel as it it also bumpy. There are likely going to be a lot of people on the shores of Harrison due to the weather and I thing we should camp past the Logging Camp just past Bear Creek - where we stopped for lunch when we went on the Clear Creek run at the beginning of the year. We might have issues finding enough camp spots so we are all together but we can figure that out when we get there.
Cogburn is a mainly 2WD trail, which is good since we have a variety of trucks coming. If you want something harder you are very welcome to explore the many surrounding trails but the views from Cogburn make up for lack of challenges. There are steep grades on this trip and ravines, washouts or rock slides, cross ditches and tight trails. I highly recommend that you all check your e-brakes or find a good equivalent. There are many places to stop and take pictures.
The main trail which I chose should be around 4 hours depending on the trucks that are with us and then less on the way back. If there are some that want a longer run we have some choices in the area that are worth checking out. I have no problems leading those as well so we'll see what happens.
