Crusier Days trip - last second reminders and times

So after scouting the trail there are a couple of things I want to mention to all interested that you should be prepared for. We will be meeting at Harrison Chevron at 6 - 6:30pm on Saturday and departing from there, I would highly recommend either getting fuel there or somewhere close (especially you gassers). We are taking East Harrison to Cogburn Creek FSR (North trail), for a full report on the scouting trip see post 9 . The main Harrison trail is very dusty, air down before you hit gravel as it it also bumpy. There are likely going to be a lot of people on the shores of Harrison due to the weather and I thing we should camp past the Logging Camp just past Bear Creek - where we stopped for lunch when we went on the Clear Creek run at the beginning of the year. We might have issues finding enough camp spots so we are all together but we can figure that out when we get there.
Cogburn is a mainly 2WD trail, which is good since we have a variety of trucks coming. If you want something harder you are very welcome to explore the many surrounding trails but the views from Cogburn make up for lack of challenges. There are steep grades on this trip and ravines, washouts or rock slides, cross ditches and tight trails. I highly recommend that you all check your e-brakes or find a good equivalent. There are many places to stop and take pictures.
The main trail which I chose should be around 4 hours depending on the trucks that are with us and then less on the way back. If there are some that want a longer run we have some choices in the area that are worth checking out. I have no problems leading those as well so we'll see what happens.

No problems. I figure if we head out of camp on Sunday around 10:30 - 11 am that will be enough time for everyone to get ready and if there are members joining us just for the day run they should be able to get there in time. Since the trail is not that long we can leave a bit later. Rod, Robert and I did both the trails with stops in about 8 1/2 hours, we were going fast and there were only 3 trucks. Once at the top of Cogburn South there is a nice hiking trail (which used to be part of the main FSR) that should provide nice views as well and allows us to do some exploring by foot.

So it is almost upon us, as a last second reminder, we will be doing a "driver's meeting" during the Cruiser Days festivities and those interested in going either after Cruiser Days or just on Sunday please let me know (I will have the rusted and dented BJ60 that you can hear from 4 blocks away). We are meeting at Harrison Hot Springs Chevron station and departing at 6:30pm. CB channel 4 and Bill - what Ham frequency? I am aiming at hitting the camp spots just West of the logging camp following the main East Harrison FSR as there is a lot of space there and hopefully not many people. During the scouting trip I did see a young bear on the trail so keep track of the kids. Departure from camp will be around 10:30 am unless there is a lot of people interested that are coming on Sunday and can't make it that early, then we'll do it a bit later. There is lots to explore out there so if we finish early we can pick and choose trails afterwards. Any questions, call me

I should be at Cruiser Days about 10am (had a long week).

For those coming on Sunday, I take my Americano black.
