Hi Everyone,

Last fall, we decided during our meetings that it would be nice to hold Cruiser Days in addition to attending the 4WDABC event in 2015.

The 4WDABC Show-n-Shine is set for July 9 at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission.

I have tentatively booked July 23 at Hougen Park (just east of Abbotsford) for Cruiser Days. The cost is $150 for the park. Our insurance is covered under the 4WDABC.

Google Maps

This will be a Club Member and Land Cruiser only event. The park can hold 100 vehicles, there is a playground, washrooms, and it's on the Sumas River. It's just off the highway east of the Whatcom exit, so it's sort of 'on-the-way' to Harrison and trails east to Chilliwack for the post show run if desired. (Camping at the Cheam-Thurston lookout might be kind of fun).

Anyhow, this is the first notice for this event, so please start the discussion of what you'd like to see or not see at this event.

At the moment, I haven't thought of anything else, so feel free to suggest!

^ I have not notified the TLCA, so please go ahead. Thanks Mike!

Here are some pics of the park.... (took this morning)

Things I'll confirm with the city:

1) We can park on the grass (the British Car club parks their cars on the the grass in front of the ball-diamond backstop, so shouldn't be an issue)
2) Power at the picnic shelter and get permission to use a PA system
3) Rules around using our own BBQ's

Received this e-mail from the city of Abbotsford special events coordinator:

Good morning Robert,

Happy to help answer some of your questions.

1. Yes you can park the show cars on the grass – you are correct; drive in, park then leave after the show. No spectator parking on the grass just the cars in the show. Please allow emergency access lane at all times.

2. Park is open to the public.

3. Washrooms will be open. If you feel attendance will reach over 150, additional washrooms will be required

4. PA system fine

5. BBQ’s are OK. If you do plan to serve food to the public outside of your club – a food permit is required.

 I was thinking of something else like hats (baseball), but whatever the consensus is fine with me.

Hats are cool - which is why I have a bunch of them in my closet. I should wear them
