Have a AAA membership
Bring a credit card with plenty of room left on it

Those will take care of the big issues. Simple hand tools for everything else. Enjoy the drive!
 
A thorough pre-trip inspection is a must. If you’re not confident in your abilities, then pay someone to do it. I’ve driven mine many of tens of thousands of miles on three trips from socal to alaska and canada and have had negligible issues with a truck that’s approaching 300k miles. All the advice from previous posts is good. It also helps to leave some slack in your itinerary in case something does go wrong. Don’t obsess over it, do what you can to prepare and have fun!
