Hi,

On an '11 LX if there's a crankshaft pulley that goes out of round what other things can if affect?? I'm assuming it could mess with the timing??

If it happened 40,000 miles and 4 years ago with no further work being done on the engine can I assume it didn't cause any other issues and they caught it fast enough?

Thanks!

If that is on a truck you are thinking of buying, I’d skip it and keep looking.

Thanks. Yeh it is. I have looked at the Lexus Service records and it's clean as I said for 4 years and 40k after it occurred.

Never even heard of that on a 200 - pass and keep looking.
Thanks.
FYI this is the Service Record entry. They always seem to truncate the entry just as it gets interesting ;o)

SERVICE: ENGINE DIAGNOSIS - LEXUS
DESCRIPTION: ENGINE DIAGNOSIS - LEXUS ~|~REPORT ON LOUD SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE BAY CHECK AND ADVISE (PULLEY) ~|~E ~|~42506 CRANKSHAFT PULLEY WAS ROTATING OUT OF ROUND CAUSING BELT TO MOVE SIDE TO SIDE 131051 200 REPLACE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY AND..

That description does not describe an 'out of round' condition. If it has been problem free for 40k, with no bearing leakage, I would be inclined to ignore it if you like the truck. Belts are pretty forgiving by nature. Most people would call that pulley condition 'run out.'
