I have an OBD II reader. Where are you located? LA or SD?

I tested my EFI relay. From my tests it shows exactly opposite of the FSM, meaning no contunuity between 1-3 and continuity between 2-4. So unless I had it backwards (which is hard to do) it looks as though my EFI relay is toast. I'll order one on Monday. I've already got a fusible link set on order, so let me see how those work out.

In L.A. near the O.C. county line.

New EFI relay did not help. In fact the new relay tests the same as the old one, so the FSM must have the pins numbers reversed.

Afterwards I decided to give it a lot of gas and give it a start. It turned over, but reluctantly. It still was running a bit rough, but not as rough as before. Before it felt like two cylinders were out, now it feels like one is out.

Maybe it's not getting enough gas?

I'll put in new spark plugs, cap and rotor tomorrow.

So I have to ask: What did you mess with just before this started happening? Did you wash your engine? Water in the dizzy or a plug somewhere?

Mine behaves like that when I have water in the dizzy or one of the two electrical plugs on top of the engine between the intake manifold and the long intake hose.

I didn't do a thing. I did wash the 80 and gave the grill a good hose down, but the 80 ran fine afterwards. It was two days after the wash that this happened. I think the washing was coincidental.

did this last weekend..

This happened to me last weekend. It turned out to be a large, but unseen until I manipulated it, crack in the hose between the air cleaner and the throttle body. 8 wraps of duct tape (temporary of course) and it ran as good as new. Just a thought, but try checking that and vacuum lines.
