I have an 04 Gx with about 320k. She just quit on me at a light a couple weeks ago, and has been cranking without starting. I had been having an issue for a while where all power would cut out when I went to start it maybe once or twice a month, but I would just fiddle with the positive terminal and would start right up. Every once in a while, she would have a very rough idle and die on me if I didn't give it gas, and would take a few minutes of driving for everything to even out. That happened the other day, but a few minutes later, it stalled again at a light and wouldn't start up again.
I tested everything I could - the contacts on the connector to the fuel pump would give about 10 volts when I was cranking, the relay tested good, and all relevant fuses were intact. However, testing resistance over the pins to the pump came back within spec. Im pretty damn confident that the pump was getting power based off of that, but when I would actually crank it, I could hear no sound coming from the pump. I figured the pump itself was completely shot, so I replaced the pump motor within the assembly.
With the new pump in, she started a couple times for about 1 second before dying, and hitting the gas pedal did nothing as it couldn't get started enough for the computer to read it in. Had to recharge the battery, but now it's back to a full crank no start, and I still don't hear anything coming from the pump.
Anyone have any ideas?? Im at a loss
