I don't have a rooftop tent for experience but I know there were other threads on here that said these things should have a diagonal brace on each side. So for yours this could be top front to bottom rear or opposite of that.
Anyway you don't want it crashing down away from home. Push on it some to simulate climbing in plus extra force and make sure it is stiff and strong enough.
Wife and I got in it today and it didn't seem to move however you are not the 1st person to mention it. I definitely will add some but it may not be until I get back.
 
Some bracing in the front. Welded to channel then bolted to tub.

Wanting to do something similar to rear but out of time.
 
I did finally use it. Got to get stabilizers up front next but I have scissor jacks for now.

Anyone use scissor jacks up front? If so are the permanently mounted ?

Nice setup, love the envirocooler, I have one as well.
 
Bad pic but finally got the legs welded in up front. Will extend the tongue next year. Hoping to learn to weld this winter.
