Coyote 5.0 Swap - 80 Series

Some time in the past, the Atlas 4.2 and the five cylinder cousin was being discussed for 80 series, but the swap never gained any steam. That 4.2 + turbo + a 8hp tranny = Meow.....

Back to your regularly scheduled Coyote program..

A couple were completed on here but the threads weren’t very good. They were finished though. I was extremely close to doing that swap myself, but dealing with the oil pan looked annoying so ultimately went v8.

There are now fabricated oil pan kits on the market for flipping the Atlas sump around though so that part of the swap is easier now.

I think the biggest detriment to the 4.2 Atlas is that it came in a Trailblazer. They have that hanging over them like a dark cloud.

Buying an LT swpa.kit for a LS swap would be your first mistake. But it is a great swap.kit for a LT engine. It's the one I bought.
