Counterfeit AHC accumulators? Is there such a thing?

I found some brand-new open box AHC globes online for quite a bit more reasonable prices than the dealership or the direct from Japan ones on eBay.

They are still a good amount of money through, and I want to make sure they are genuine. Webpage shows them in Toyota/Lexus boxes with the correct part number.

Are these something that I would need to worry about being counterfeit? Anything else to look for buying these on the secondary market? Again, they are brand new and have never been installed / used.

Also, do these have a shelf life? Any issues with them sitting around for awhile in the open box? I don't need globes right now but wanted to have a set on hand just in case.

Hoping to save a few bucks, but not unless I can know for certain they are genuine.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, my buddy just got counterfeit accumulators for his LX 470 on Ebay. Shipped from China, not Japan said OEM/Denso but they were not. He managed to get a refund through ebay and I had him contact the seller I and some other folks here used, Toyota LX570 URJ200 Suspension Accumulator Set SET | 49141-60020 49151-60020 | Genuine OEM no issues, quick shipping, legit OEM parts.

I doubt there are issues with how long they sit. They are pressurized but since they are not being actively used I can't imagine they deteriorate at any significant level. Maybe an engineer can jump in?

There are aftermarket versions available. Don't buy them. I source AHC products from Impex Japan. If you find a better/cheaper source for genuine parts, tell me about it.

How did he know there were fake? Is it just that they shipped from China and not Japan? Were there any other tells?

The part numbers were wrong, the boxes were goofy. They were for an LX 470 and supposed to be from ASIN. They were made in China, from tell not made in Japan. He ended up buying from the same Ebay seller I and a bunch of folks here bought our accumulators from. (Seller I linked above)

Yeah I bought Denso globes from a Seller on eBay who said he didn’t end up needing them (figured I’d get them faster than an international shipment). I’ve come to the conclusion that they’re the Chinese knockoffs so I just ordered a set from the Seller linked above.

Could you post photos of the knockoffs for awareness and interest sake?

The one on the left is what I believe to be inauthentic.
If you look closely, the print is just not as crisp as you’d expect. The oem ones have a different shape. Now there are some Denso’s that I’ve seen that have a similar shape, however, all 4 of these were the same size and they look very similar to the pictures of the Chinese knockoffs that can be found on Alibaba and eBay.
Given that it was (what felt like 400 bolts) rough to take off my ahc protectors off my sliders, I don’t want to risk it and do it again so I’m returning these and ordered new OEM ones from Japan.
