I have used the them on 3 or 4 wheeling trips - only complaint is they have a ****ty little speaker so understanding is about 65% of the time - probably work better in a quiet Lexus

Yup, talked about lots on the forum and in the clubs. I have one also

5 watt dual band for 21 bucks. These look too cool and cheap to not pick up a couple. No excuses for the CB holdouts now.

Works best if you duct tape it your ear:hillbilly:

I just order the dual band Baofeng UV-82L with a PTT (push-to-talk) ear piece. With it in my pocket I should have almost hand free coms - no mikes to reach for.

Any long term review so far Glenn? And where did you order yours from? Amazon.com tells me it wont ship to Canada, and I don't feel like driving down to Blaine anytime soon.

I've had mine for a while now. Same model, got the ear piece but I prefer the remote mic option which you can clip to your shirt if you want. The big issue I found with it is that while it is inside the cab the range is pretty sad. I ended up buying an external mag antenna and it works great! Last trip I could talk with Glenn and Drew at distances of up to +/- 25 kms. For the price, it has worked out great. Got mine through amazon.com, does .ca carry it even? The nice thing about the amazon ones as opposed to eBay is you do get a bit more warranty and if it dies you have a better chance of a resolution. The eBay sales are a bit less guaranteed.
