Cool Down procedure for 1KZ

I just bought an 01 Prado with 1KZ. I am completely new to Diesels so was hoping someone could lend me a hand. I know that it is not good to shut the engine down without allowing the turbo to cool. What is the proper procedure? Do you leave the car running for it to cool down? Just leave the key in the on position?

install a turbo timer.. for hard and long driving, set the timer to 3-5 mins. for short drives, set the timer to 30 secs or 1 min.
