"Rusty"

Not biting on the "frecklenut" suggestion?

Damn them are soooom nuts.

Mud. Mud Dog. Cruiser? Come here Cruiser. Cruiser did you s*** on the floor? Just trying to sound it out in my head. TWOF-Sounds Indian. Come here 2F. Good boy 2F.

I like Diesel-but it only feels good one a big dog-Rot or Pit. Maybe a German Shepard.

Damn man,
Thanks for the 35% on the dog nuts, perv
I prefer the most normal human names.
Fred, George, etc

then you could say he growls like a 2f. :flipoff2:

Thanks for all the great responses. unfortunately "frecklenut" is out...The wife just won't go for it., but it is funny as hell because Cruiser wags his tale like CRAZY when we call him that.

the top three:

Diesel
Birfield
Marlin

freebase

Blondie

rhymes are hard, cuz dogs usually recognize the last part of their name, not the first. you also gotta worry about karma: Mud dog will put the substance everywhere the cruiser can't reach. ;)

my experience is that dogs have an 'official' name, which you willingly shout to call them back. the 'family' names differ and accumulate over time and are generally based on some goofy behavior. then there's the 'luv bug' name, the one you whisper whilst scritching the softest spot under their ears. 'frecklenut' fits the last category.

my first doberman was Lucifer. it was the other half's idea. I called him "Lou" to the world, "hey Luci" when I got home, and "dorito feet" was just one of the many 'luv bug' names.

my second doberboy only had one testicle drop. he was 'one-ball' til the exploratory surgery. you don't want to know where the vet found the other one.
