Rookie2...guess I should have paid attention to my posts more, sorry I was lagging.

The hose I used was red with a black interior, I got it at Napa, it was in the $1/ft range I think, although I don't really remember. The hose was really thick, it claims to be 5/8" hose but does not stretch well to go over pipes and such. I fought with it for a long time, used everything I had to lubricate it, stretch it, etc...finally got it on but man, what a pain. I would definetly NOT use that hose again. The hose was not specific heater hose or anything specific I don't think, just generic 5/8" hose, it had '250psi max' printed on the side, pretty beefy stuff.

I also bought some 5/8" fuel line, since I had heard that's what Christo used, that was cheaper, maybe I'll put that in now.

Does the silicone hose that people are using last longer? I don't know how bad my PHH is now, all I know is it looks a bit odd, like with a bulge in it, I can not imagine that hose has failed though, the walls on it were very thick, almost looked like 2 seperate hoses sleeved together. When I have some free time I'll pull mine out and see how it looks and replace it.

Thanks,
Mark Brodis

Crap. I thought I finally scored when I found the red outside, black inside hose, now after hours struggling to even find that, I hear it is a pain in the ass to use. Well not a single store in my area carries silicone hose and most of the friendly associates get some sort of cross-eyed look when I ask for either it or the constant torque hose clamps. This process has to be worse than the actual hose exchange...I hope. Anyway...long story but I finally call a hydraulics store and they have the hose! What's more...they not only knew what a constant torque hose clamp is but also recomend that clamp for the silicone hose. It'll be in on Tuesday so I can't attack this week-end but I finally found the elusive hose. The phone number of this place is 610-458-8905 and they will ship if anyone is in need of the above....and yes I called about seven NAPA stores, only one would even look up what I needed. He will get my business from now on. Cheers
