I've struggled for years on this leak between cats on multiple 95-97 cruisers.

Main question is on the part number for the gasket between 1st and 2nd cat. This post shows 90917-06043, which is also confirmed in Toyota parts diagrams:

And Toyota says that 17451-52060 replaces 90917-06043:

However, here is a picture of the fitment of 17451-52060, which is not even close:

So, it would seem that 17451-52060 does not replace 90917-06043. Can anyone verify that 17451-52060 is different from 90917-06043? If so, I'm hopeful that I can actually order 90917-06043, and not receive the superseded part that doesn't fit.

Adding info here. The aftermarket gaskets do have the correct measurements:

RockAuto has this one and a Fel-Pro:
1768099416048.webp

So I may buy one of these since I have been unlucky with the newly superseded Toyota P/N.

Adding more info. The Victor Reinz is the right size and appears to be good quality. Would still love for someone to re-confirm the superseded OEM Toyota one in case I just received a mistaken packaged item..

Hope this helps others.

Hi there - I just found a leak between my cats and have the p0420 code on my 1995 FZJ80. This between cat gasket replacement was going to be my first line of attach in addressing the code. Since your posts here, have you been able to confirm the correct Toyota gasket part number to order? THANK YOU!

I have not. I have to believe I got a bad/mislabeled one - would be very odd if the size is actually wrong, but I can’t imagine they sell many of them. The Victor Reinz is pretty good quality - better than the magnaflow ones.

Thanks for letting me know.

I have my 2nd cat off trying to fix this exact same leak and ordered a gasket from a Toyota dealership. Sure enough, 52060 is what showed up and it DOES NOT FIT. Argh! The individual at the parts department said I am out of luck because Toyota must have since changed the actual cat dimensions on the downpipe?? Quite frustrating. Now trying to source the best aftermarket gasket just to get the rig bolted back together.

This is the most frustrating thing I've run into this year. After ordering this gasket three times form my dealer, I finally got the one I ordered, but now the Toyota EPC lists 90917-06043 as a Lexus only part (which is superseded by 17451-52060). It is still available from Japan (their EPC isn't mucked up; yet), or from Canadian stock:

FWIW, this gasket is listed for almost all Toyota exhausts of that year(ish) range). IDK why this is so screwed up.

I opted for a VR gasket.

Thanks for weighing in and letting us know which gasket you went with. I ordered at VR and a Walker from various part stores so we'll see which one looks the best. Funny thing is the 31 yr old cat looks brand new inside so I'd like to not swap over to a magnaflow until I absolutely have to. Thanks for the info!
