Saginaw Model 800 steering box ("4 bolt - 4 turn") rebuilt and ported by West Texas Offroad. Pitman arm machined to accept GM 1-ton tie rod ends.

1.75" hydraulic ram (2.25"o.d.) with .75" piston rod. 8" stroke. Comes with two 5/8" heim joints.

Saginaw power steering pump modified for higher flow rates.

Borgeson double-D steering shaft with u-joints.

I used this steering system for two years before switching to full hydro. It turned 42" tires with ease. $450 plus shipping from 97701.

mmmm...tempting.

so jack, i haven't looked too seriously at hydro-assist, but i am goin to be tossin 37s under my rig after i get the 62 axle swap and soa finished (at some point before the apocalypse, hopefully).

in your opinion, would it be worth putting hydro-assist on a truck like that?
(be careful here...your answer could spur me on to spending my next paycheck, ha ha)

thanks, and sorry for the hijack on the for sale thread...

Sorry, the parts are all sold. Happened very quickly on Pirate.

Malphrus, I am a big fan of hydro assist. No loss of feel on the highway and much easier steering offroad.

Damn, I just got back.......missed out!!!:censor:
